Challenges
In the manufacturing industry, quality and quantity are both key to success. So when quality checks fail to keep up with the pace of manufacturing, then automation is the way to go.
Company A is one of the top 25 manufacturers of automobile tyres in the world, with 12 manufacturing plants that make it possible for their products to be made available in over 100 countries across the globe. However, even this industry leader struggled with the need to efficiently balance mass manufacturing with individual quality checks.

Effects
Here’s how CloudNow’s solutions benefited Company A
Picking Up
The Pace
At Company A, the scheduling of quality check processes was being carried out manually and recorded on paper. With the increased pace of production, however, a more advanced solution was necessary.
CloudNow developed a web application that could automate the scheduling of quality checks for different types of products by measuring the load of the quality check equipment at any given point in time. The process was made even more seamless and error-free as the application was also integrated with the company’s existing production and manufacturing modules.
The application also maintained the quality check templates for easy access during the process. Not only did this solution pick up the pace and accuracy of the scheduling process, but it also eliminated the need for a dedicated kiosk within the unit to monitor and schedule quality checks.

Innovative Reports &
Business Intelligence
- The manual scheduling of quality checks, recorded on paper, also posed a difficulty during the generation of reports which were being generated manually using Excel sheets.
- To improve this process, the web application developed by CloudNow enabled the capture of quality check results for each individual product, automation of dynamic report generation, and provision of a business intelligence (BI) tool to analyze results from quality checks and represent them in the form of graphs and real-time widgets.
- This last feature, which was developed with the integration of Google Cloud’s BI stack, made it possible for company representatives to view and understand data in depth, and take more effective decisions to improve their manufacturing processes. The application was also integrated with Google Cloud BI solution to derive real-time widgets and dynamic reports.
