We recently had the opportunity to work with a leading Indian garment manufacturer who manufactures clothes on a white-label basis for several leading multinational brands.
Communication among numerous disparate teams – typical to the industry – tends to cause huge delays, lengthening the delivery cycles from the manufacturer to its clients. CloudNow looked to digitize the entire process, thereby creating transparency and accountability to all stakeholders through one unified solution.
In their existing process, the merchandising team at the organization would coordinate with purchasers at client companies to understand their specific requirements, have designs drawn up by the in-house design team, freeze on design specification, negotiate and agree on costing and delivery time, and coordinate delivery.
With each step of this process managed manually, the process was tending to result in time delays – something that neither they nor their clients could afford. A smoother process that could harness technology to eliminate the delays at each stage of manual collaboration and communication.
CloudNow implemented a ‘process digitization system’ through the development of a comprehensive, custom-built digital platform. This application serves to eliminate non value-added activities across processes, thereby improving overall efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience.
The application includes a front-end portal for end customers to interact with the system, select designs from the catalog, request customizations of materials, styles and finishes, and place order enquiries.
Merchandisers from the manufacturer receive alerts for order enquiries or sample designs requested by customers. Through an intuitive interface, they can:
Merchandisers also have control over the product listings in the front-end customer catalog, including managing options for fabrics, models, and so on.
For Designers at the organization, the process of creating designs, collaborating internally for feedback, iterating and arriving at a final version was earlier a time-consuming process with difficulty in tracking and managing comments and versions.
One of the core value-adds of the new application is the Design Moodboard functionality. Designers and Design Heads have access to these collaborative moodboards, where a designer can upload their design drafts and share them with members of the team. Team members can then share feedback, communicate with each other in an easily trackable thread, and even add updated versions of the design. Version management is also taken care of by the moodboard functionality, all the way through to submitting the design to the Design Head for approval.
Through this comprehensive application, our client experienced the power of digital transformation. By streamlining communication from the start to end of operations, the organization saw reduced turnaround time and thus increased throughput.
CloudNow specializes in digital transformation for organizations of all sizes.
